Meet Sholeh
After a childhood defined by exploration in painting and music, Sholeh Ashtiani’s career in art began over fifteen years ago and developed into a great passion for depicting the beauty of the human form. Her figurative work in painting and sculpture is physiologically complicated, with meticulous attention to the sinews and contours of the body. Her love for music and dance influenced her latest work of figurative, dance-inspired sculpture and painting. She has a unique eye for color as seen in her specially designed patinas, and also uses color to redefine the contemporary nude. Bronze is her medium of choice because of its durability and versatility for display. Any of her pieces could adorn a garden or porch just as readily as a household living room.
Sholeh's work has been exhibited at ”Sculpture in the Streets” in Mesa, Arizona, Loveland Sculpture Invitational, Ohio Wesleyan University, Society of Illustrators New York Gallery, Hyde Park Arts Fair, In-View Gallery, Boolas Gallery, as well as many others. Her work has appeared in such periodicals as Key Arizona, Hoot, Downtown Mesa, Ohio Magazine, Body Conditioning, and Columbus Parents. She has worked closely with Players Theatre, BalletMet, and Otterbein College Theatre Company. Recently, her works were features in the TV magazine, “Good Morning Arizona”.
Please enjoy your visit to Sholeh's website, as we hope you share in her vision of beauty and harmony in the world through viewing her art. We want to thank collectors who have visited her gallery in La Jolla, California and purchased her works. Because her works are now available in a growing number of galleries across the U.S., we have closed her gallery, the Flame Gallery, in La Jolla.
